Do you know Jesus?? Well, if you don’t know who Jesus is, I would like to invite you to get to know him personally as your Lord and Saviour. Jesus loves you so much and died on the cross so that you can have eternal life and receive His power and grace to live abundantly right now. Jesus is the only way to heaven and His death as a sinless sacrifice paid the price for the world’s sin and that includes yours (Acts 4:12). Say this simple prayer from your heart: Dear Father-God, thank you for loving me so much by sending your only begotten son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for me. I acknowledge that He died so that I can be forgiven of my sins and be reedeemed through His blood which was shed for me. I repent for all my sins, I turn away from them, and I ask you to please forgive me. I believe that Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:4 and Romans 10:9-10). I believe that it is only through Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection that I can be made right. Jesus, come into my heart. I surrender my will and my life to you. Reveal yourself to me Jesus as my Saviour and the Lord of my life. Lead and guide me. Help me to live a life that is set apart for you and honours You, in action, word, thought and deed. Thank your for your love Lord Jesus and the abiliy to live for you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. If you just said that prayer, Congratualations! Welcome to the Family of God!!
I encourage you to read the Bible everyday. I suggest that you start with the book of St. John. As you read the Bible, you will develop and fortify your faith in God. I also encourage you to pray to God everyday which is simply sharing your heart with Him. In addition, begin to practice being still during your prayertime by having a journal nearby to write things down that you feel God may be saying to you. This is why it is important to read the Bible because it will help you to learn God’s voice and His ways. The more word you have in you the stronger your faith and your ability to decipher between truth and deception. What God says to you will be in alignment with The Holy Bible (scripture), His character and the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17). Here are some helpful scriptures about the importance of the word of God in your life: Romans 10:17, Matthew 4:4, 2 Timothy 3:16, John 17:17, Matthew 22:29, Proverbs 4:20-23, Isaiah 40:8, Joshua 1:8, Psalm 119:105, Hebrews 4:12-14, John 6:63 and Isaiah 55:8-11. (Tip: Remember the acronym THINK: T for True, H for Honest, I for Inspiring, N for Necessary/Nice and K for Kind. If the thought that comes to your mind doesn’t meet all five“checkpoints” it is disqualified (Philipians 4:8). Don’t entertain that thought/ idea because it is not from God and it will not bring you peace. Cast that thought down and out of your mind as we are instructed to do in 2 Corinthians 10:5.) Communicating with God will help you to grow strong in your relationship with the Lord. Finally, find a Bible believing church, so that you can have a community which will help you to learn and grow in fellowship with other believers.
God loves you and He is always watching over you my dear. As you seek the Lord, I pray that you feel strengthened by His loving embrace. Below are some scriptures to encourage you from the King James Bible.
